General Psychiatric Unit
Patients suffering from a wide range of psychiatric illnesses, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, stress and "burnout" are admitted into the General Psychiatric Unit. Apart from being in the safe environment of the Clinic and receiving psychiatric treatment, each patient is allocated to one of three programme streams, which are managed by the Centre of Psychotherapy Excellence (COPE.) The three programmes are:- Psychotherapy Programme
- Occupational Therapy Programme
- High Care Programme
Stress Management - Understanding and dealing with stress, including:

- Time management
- Goal setting
- Relaxation techniques
- Leisure and lifestyle management
- Post-traumatic stress counselling
Assertiveness Training - Skills for expressing feelings, needs and desires in an assertive manner, including:
- Anger management
- Conflict resolution
- Making and refusing requests
- Handling criticism
Social Skills Training - Skills for effective communication, including verbal and non-verbal skills
Support Groups - An opportunity to share common issues in a group and to give and receive support
Personal Growth - Exploration of specific areas of personal growth, including improvement of self-esteem
Affirmations - Setting personal goals on a daily basis and developing a positive frame of mind
Self-Awareness - Reflect on oneself to gain an understanding of how individual patterns of behaviour, thoughts and coping mechanisms have developed
Empowering Relationships - Discussions of roles and responsibilities within relationships
Arts and Crafts - An opportunity to not only learn a new hobby, but to relax, improve concentration and increase self-esteem
Psychoeducation - Understanding of stress and coping with depression, anxiety and other illnesses, including different therapies and importance of medication compliance
