Akeso mental health facilities
Akeso has a wide network of 12 mental health facilities. At our hospitals, we offer specialised inpatient treatment of adults and adolescents for a range of psychiatric, psychological and addictive conditions. These include mood disorders, anxiety and mild forms of psychosis; addiction linked to mood disorders or anxiety; general adolescent disorders and in many instances adolescents who are abusing alcohol or other addictive substances; adults and adolescents with eating disorders; postnatal depression and dementia.
Outpatient services are available at almost all our hospitals as well, including the services of specialist psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and occupational therapists. We also offer post-discharge support groups and other forms of support.
Akeso was established in 2007, and became part of the Netcare Group in 2018.
Our expert multi-disciplinary teams comprised of psychiatrists, medical doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, specialist psychiatric nurses and other mental healthcare professionals, work together to provide safe and comfortable inpatient environments, providing care to patients at our dedicated facilities located in Gauteng, the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga.
